A new contra flow bus lane has been introduced in County Cork as part of the Cork City Council’s Transportation.
One of the measure’s included in the Cork Area Strategic Plan (CASP), is the implementation of a Green Route Network to improve Public Transport in the greater Metropolitan Cork area.
As part of the Green Routes initiative within Cork City a new bus contra flow lane has been introduced on Camden Quay and St Patrick’s Bridge. This traffic change will facilitate provision of an improved public transport system on the north side of the River Lee. Passengers using the number two and number three bus routes will especially benefit as a result of time savings.
Parking on Camden Quay has been removed since midnight on Wednesday 15 August 2007.
Contra flow bus lanes operate continuously 24 hours and 7 days a week.
