Leading UK copper tube manufacturer Mueller Europe has its sights set on achieving even greater levels of performance.

The business has committed to the Investors in Excellence (IiE) scheme, a rigorous programme designed to help organisations identify and deliver sustainable business performance improvements.

Building on initiatives such as Investors in People, ISO 9000 and Charter Mark, IiE is a standard of all round excellence to recognise a company's achievements through key indicators including leadership, people and customer results.

Peter Marsh, Managing Director of Mueller Europe said: "At Mueller we are constantly striving to improve the service we offer our customers. Over the last few years we have done this by investing over £38 million in our west midlands factory to completely modernise plant operations.

"IiE will provide a solid foundation on which to build the necessary systems to achieve our goal of becoming a world class manufacturer. It allows us to improve our analysis of operations, and to develop a practical plan to improve our performance in the future by setting demanding but achievable targets in key business areas. It also, in conjunction with our Iip accreditation, helps us develop on-going training and career development plans for employees on an individual basis."
