The first phase of a new residential development in the heart of Cork city has sold out before work on Phase 2 has even started, due in part to the quality of finish of the luxury homes.
John F Supple Ltd, of Ardrostig, Bishopstown, has constructed the 49 one, two and three-bedroom apartments at Elderwood, Boreenamana Road, using techniques designed to combine speed and quality.
The structure has been created with a mix of brick, concrete stone and steel frame, with each individual home created internally with Fermacell dry lining board and Protektor stud wall fixing, supplied by Richmond Building Products.
Some 25,000 sq ms of Fermacell high performance dry lining board and 25,000 linear metres of Protektor has been used in the project to date. Fermacell is manufactured from 100% recyclable materials including raw gypsum and cellulose fibres, in a process that yields a board with high impact, fire and moisture resistance, and improved sound insulation over traditional wall and flooring materials. The board provides up to one hour fire resistance, and is moisture rated enabling it to be used in damp areas such as showers and bathrooms.
