McInerney Holdings Reveals Profits Decrease

Irish building company McInerney Holdings has revealed that 100 fewer homes were built in the first six months of this year in comparison to the same period in 2006.

The group constructed 257 homes from January to June, down from last year's figure of 362.

Pre-tax profits declined by €2 million in the first half of 2007, with profits of €9.2m this year, compared to €11.2m in the corresponding period in 2006.

Private housing profits however rose in Ireland by 15 per cent and 97 per cent in the UK.

McInerney’s UK housing operation recorded a considerable increase in output in the first six months of 2007, with 446 homes completed, compared to 268 homes for the same period in the previous year.
