Dublin-based property company Shelbourne Developments have revealed they are to build the tallest building in North America.
The Chicago Spire is due to be completed by 2011, and is designed by world famous Spanish architect, Santiago Calatrava.
The structure will stand at just over 600 metres tall, and will sit on a site at the junction of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan.
Work has already begun on the Spire, which will contain almost 2,000 apartments which range from 50 square metres to 950 square meters, with prices ranging from $750,000 to $40 million.
