A new eco-friendly head office has been awarded the Chambers Ireland overall award for corporate social responsibility.
The Musgrave Group’s HQ, on Cork’s Airport Road, was given the award last night at a ceremony, where a judging panel praised its design and construction for ensuring the lowest environmental impact.
John Curran, the Group's Environmental Executive said the structure - which features €300m worth of 'green' energy, saved them between €20,000 and €30,000 on energy bills alone.
However, Musgrave are confident this seven per cent extra outlay of heavy-insulation can be more than recovered over its lifetime.
