Dublin based contracting company Sisk have received the overall construction award for consistent achievement by Billy Kelleher T.D. Minister for Labour in safety, at the NISO Annual Safety Conference 2007, Kerry.
The award recognises the company's safety awareness culture and dedication to minimising accidents in the workplace.
Speaking at the conference Paul Sullivan, Sisk Regional Director, said: "I'm delighted to receive this award on behalf of Sisk. By their very nature construction sites can be potentially very dangerous. This award highlights our commitment to minimising all accidents and striving towards an incident free workplace."
The company aims to continually improve its safety and health performance by taking a pro-active approach to the management of safety and health as an integral part of managing a successful business.
Sisk were also awarded the Gold Standard in occupational health and safety in recognition of demonstrated leadership.
Sisk is the largest general contracting company in Ireland with a turnover in excess of €1.2billion. Notable projects include Croke Park, the redevelopment of the Guinness Storehouse and Cork Opera House.
