The Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, Tony Killeen has announced that over €4.5 million has been allocated for a housing project at Circular Road in Kilkee.
According to the Clare TD: "The funding is in respect of the provision of 30 units of accommodation and associated communal facilities under the Department’s Capital Funding Schemes for voluntary housing projects."
Minister Killeen added: "The accommodation is being provided by Kilkee Housing Association Limited, in cooperation with Clare County Council and is for allocation to disabled persons, elderly persons and elderly returning emigrants."
"I would like to praise Kilkee Housing Association Limited and the voluntary housing organisations for the active role they are playing, in cooperation with housing authorities, in the provision of accommodation for the homeless, disadvantaged, people with disabled, elderly persons and elderly returning emigrants eligible for accommodation under the scheme," concluded the Minister.
Minister Killeen received official confirmation of the allocation from Batt O'Keefe TD, Minister for Housing, Urban Renewal and Developing Areas.
