NI Railways is advising passengers using Marino station halt that, due to upgrade work currently being carried out on the line, the platform in the Belfast direction will be closed the weekend of 17 November.
The company has also announced that the Dunmurray station halt, in the directions of Belfast and Portadown will also be closed.
The work is part of the £7 million investment package to upgrade stations across the Province in order to deliver a better rail service. The work involves new signage, shelters, seating and re-surfacing and will mean greater access for disabled passengers and a better environment for all.
Translink’s General manager for Rail Services, Mal McGreevy, has assured passengers that every effort would be made to minimise noise and disruption to stations and services.
NI Railways would like to ask passengers and residents for their continued support, in order to improve this local facility for the local community, and would apologise for any inconvenience caused by these temporary arrangements.
Passengers can access the latest information regarding the project by logging on to www.translink.co.uk or by contacting Translink’s Call Centre on: 028 90666630.
