Over €1.5 million of funding has been approved for a housing development at Kerry Lane, County Cork.
The development involves the construction of six units of accommodation under the Capital Loan and Subsidy Scheme with a total loan approval of €1.597 million.
Speaking on Wednesday, Dáil Minister for Housing, Urban Renewal and Developing Areas, Mr Batt O'Keeffe, said: "I am delighted to be able to approve funding for this project, Cork County Council are to be congratulated on their use of the voluntary housing schemes to meet the needs of the people in this area.
"Equally Cluid Voluntary Housing Association is to be commended for the efforts they are making to provide housing of this nature in Cork and around the country."
The houses provided by Cluid Voluntary Housing Association in co-operation with Cork County Council will be allocated to families from the Councils housing list on completion.
