World Trade Centre Belfast Announces Export Excellence Seminars For The New Year

The logo for World Trade Centre Belfast has been revealed by Belfast City Council, the license holders for the WTC Belfast brand.

Designed by local company, Albino Branding and Design, the logo reflects the aspirations of World Trade Centre Belfast to support the growth of world class companies from the region.

There are more than 300 World Trade Centres across the globe, and the priority for Belfast City Council is to develop relationships within the network which will enable local firms who become members of WTC Belfast to tap into export opportunities.

Councillor Michael Browne, Chairman of Belfast City Council's Development Committee said: "Links with World Trade Centre colleagues throughout the world will enable local member companies to access market intelligence, business matchmaking services and attend trade shows and exhibitions.

"Businesses visiting export markets can also use World Trade Centre facilities throughout the world. The launch of Belfast membership early next year will offer a global gateway to any company serious about raising their presence in international markets."

An exciting new series of export seminars has also been announced.

The Export Excellence seminar series is aimed at firms across Northern Ireland who wish to develop their skills and understanding of what it takes to operate successfully in export markets. The speakers at these events will be from successful export companies and firms specializing in international trading.

The seminar series will run from January to April 2008 at the Northern Ireland Science Park.

'Developing your Global Brand' is the first in the series and is scheduled for January 17th. It will be hosted by global brand consultant, The Brand Union, whose clients include XBox and Vodafone.

For further information about WTC Belfast or to register for any of the Export Excellence seminars, contact Valerie Brown, Belfast City Council's World Trade Centre Officer, on 028 9050 0518 or email: brownvalerie@belfastcity.gov.uk.

The WTCA has the exclusive right to grant WTC licenses. There can only be one license per economic region. There are currently more than 300 World Trade Centres across the world, serving more that 750,000 organisations.

WTCs across the globe differ in their focus and services. Some WTCs focus primarily on managing real estate, where the primary focus is the actual building. Such WTCs will house a variety of tenants including public and private sector which are involved in international trade. They may also host trade shows and exhibitions and provide business support services such as secretarial services and manage library facilities.

Other WTCs may focus on providing services to their WTC member companies. This will include export trade education, international trade business matchmaking and organising trade missions. Their focus is very much on building relationships with other members of this 300 plus network in order to develop an effective global gateway for their local company members.
