Royal Victoria A&E Moved To Allow Construction Of New Department

The A&E department of the Royal Victoria hospital in Belfast is moving from today to a new unit close to the hospital's Grosvenor Road entrance to allow for construction.

It will operate for the next four years while a new A&E department is built. The new unit will cost more than £3 million.

Dr Laurence Rocke of the Royal said it would have better facilities for patients and staff than the hospital's current casualty department.
