Donegal crane company Mantis Cranes has announced it has plans to expand its operations into the United States.
The company currently supplies self-erecting cranes to the US market through a joint venture set up last year. It is understood the deal with Celtic Cranes is worth an estimated €700 million and the coalition is called Celtic Self Erecting Cranes.
Mantis employs 50 people in Donegal, and it is a major supplier of cranes in Ireland and Britain.
The latest crane launched by the company - the TC-25 - was designed and built at the company’s manufacturing facilities in Killygordon, County Donegal.
