Objections have been lodged at a public meeting against barrier-free tolling on the M50 motorway.
The National Roads Authority has had six objections from motoring and consumer groups opposed to the proposals to remove toll barriers and replace them with electronic tolling.
The State will operate the tolling system from August 2008, after buying out National Toll Roads contract.
The AA has argued that the installation of the new technology would be enormously expensive and complex.
Five other parties have lodged objections including the National Consumer Agency which are opposed to plans to increase toll prices from next year and hauliers who believe heavy goods vehicles should be exempted from charges when the toll-bridge is handed over to the State.
