Northern Ireland Finance Minister Peter Robinson has overturned legislation introduced to tackle climate change.
The legislation, introduced by direct rule, was due to be come into play in April this year in an attempt to lower Northern Ireland's carbon footprint.
However the Minister today announced: "I have re-examined all the former Secretary of State's proposals and have concluded that the flexibility which the methodology in the current regulations affords, should not be compromised by the introduction of such a prescriptive requirement."
The regulations would have made it compulsory for all newly built properties to have build-in wind turbines, solar panels and wood-fuelled boilers.
