Communities across Belfast are being urged to get creative and design their very own anti-litter ad for their area.
Belfast City Council is inviting youth and community groups to sign up to the initiative which is part of its 'Don`t drop it – stop it!' anti-litter campaign.
The four winning entries, from north, south, east and west, will be displayed in bus shelters in each area of Belfast.
The theme of the competition is 'The impact of litter in our community' and any group interested in taking part should register by January 25.
The closing date for entries is February 15.
Councillor Cathal Mullaghan, Chairman of the council's Health and Environmental Services Committee, said: "Litter and the impact it has on our city is something the council takes very seriously and it is our priority to create a Brighter Belfast for all – and we need communities help to achieve that goal.
“We hope this will capture people's imagination, particularly our younger citizens, and I would encourage youth and community groups to sign up to this creative challenge."
The initiative is the latest phase in the council`s ongoing anti-litter campaign which is now in its fourth year.
