Cork based construction company The Bowen Group has announced it will build the Tyndall National Institute's new €26m laboratory building at University College, Cork.
The building and civil engineering contractors will construct the lab, which will be a key element in the growth of the Institute.
It will be specially constructed to create a flexible range of low-vibration laboratory and clean room environments with control of acoustic noise, radio frequency and electromagnetic interference.
It will also allow the college to host larger numbers of local researchers, as well as international research laboratories in the areas of phonics, electronics, materials and nanotechnologies.
Scott Tallon Walker is the architect involved in the project, while PM Group will act as project managers. The Information and Communications Technology building is due to be complete in December.
