The Department for Social Development has welcomed the High Court's ruling on Queen's Quay.
Sheridian Millenium Ltd had applied to the court to quash the Department's decision to end its status as preferred developer for the site. The application was dismissed on all grounds.
The court ruling recognises that the Department and the former Laganside Corporation acted appropriately. Following due diligence the department and Laganside had concluded that they could not properly form an opinion on Sheridan Millenium’s ability to deliver the project.
A spokesperson for the department welcomed the Court’s ruling and said: "This decision means that the Department can now move forward developing this important Laganside site and we will make an announcement on the next steps in the near future."
