The winner of the first IWWE & IRWM Innovation Award, Lennox Ltd who entered the Albin AD pump, was announced at the Irish Water Waste & Environment (IWWE) and the Irish Recycling & Waste Management (IRWM) exhibition recently.
Adjudicated by a combined visitor vote and two judges, the winner was chosen from a total of 16 innovative products entered into the 2008 award. The judges Leon Agnew, Senior Executive at the Innovation & Technology Transfer Centre at Enterprise Ireland and Dominique Juif, Resident M&E Engineer at RPS, based their decision on the four categories degree of innovation, technical content, environmental impact and commercial potential.

Says Denis Coll, Product Manager at Lennox: "We at Lennox Pump & Process are absolutely delighted to receive the IWWE & IRWM Innovation Award for 2008 on behalf of Albin Pump. We see this award as an extremely important recognition of the design effort and conscious decision by Albin Pump to not only address the issue of energy consumption in a regime of rising energy costs, but at the same time to produce a pump unit that is technically ahead of its competitors on all fronts, providing the customer with a true alternative in this market."
