Expansion Planned For Kerry Technology Park

Shannon Development is lodging a planning application this week with Kerry County Council for a new 2,500 m2 office building at Kerry Technology Park (KTP), Tralee.

If successful this will be the third Shannon Development building at KTP and will comprise self-contained office suites ranging from 84m2 to 465m2.

"The building will provide expansion space for some of the rapidly growing companies moving to the Park. Working with our partners at KTP, the Institute of Technology Tralee, we have jointly undertaken a Masterplan which sets out future development for the entire Park incorporating the Institute of Technology Tralee (ITT) campus," said Marie Lynch Manager of Kerry Technology Park.

"We have done this to achieve a seamless integration of the education and enterprise elements of the Park, and the proposed new building will be part of this Masterplan. We have 17 companies currently employing 280 people at KTP and our aim is to continue to enhance Kerry Technology Park's reputation as a premier business location. We will do this by continuing to create a superb working environment where businesses can grow and flourish," said Ms. Lynch.

Shannon Development and ITT are collaborating closely on many elements including the physical integration of their respective sites which are located adjacent to one another. KTP and ITT are working on developing the shared space belonging to both bodies into a central plaza which would be used as a recreational area for all companies who work at the location to enjoy.

In addition to these developments a number of companies based at Kerry Technology Park have come together to construct their own purpose built facility.

Construction of a new 2,790m2 building is due to begin shortly. This building combined with the proposed new Shannon Development building will bring the total Enterprise space at Kerry Technology Park to almost 11,150m2.
