Wexford County Council are to instigate moves to prevent a property developer from continuing with coastal protection works near his house.
Last year, Harry Crosbie sought planning permission to install coastal erosion control measures near a site at Kilpatrick, 10km north of Courtown, on the Wicklow-Wexford border.
However Wexford County Council rejected the plan in March of this year.
Such a project would also require the permission of the Department of the Environment because part of the site is a Special Area of Conservation.
In spite of these obstacles, work began close to Mr Crosbie's house last week, causing complaints from locals. As a result, the council sent an engineer to evaluate the situation.
Later today, the council is due to issue termed enforcement letters to Mr Crosbie in order to compel him to discontinue the work.
Mr Crosbie has a large property portfolio in Dublin's docklands and a long association with the Point Depot.
