A Fermanagh-based building products and financial services magnate has been named as Northern Ireland's wealthiest person.
Sean Quinn and his family, owners of the Quinn Group, have a fortune of £3,730 million - ranking 12th among Britain's richest, revealed in yesterday's Sunday Times Rich List.
The 61-year-old and his family's empire - which includes quarries, hotels, insurance and industry - are worth an estimated £3.7m.
The second richest in the Province were named as brothers Kevin and Michael Lagan - proprietors of Belfast-based Lagan Group – having accumulated a total fortune of £928m. They specialise in large construction projects, including a newly acquired £250m local roadbuilding contract, as well as contracts overseas.
The Lagan brothers were positioned 81st in the list.
One of Northern Ireland's top property developers, Gerard O'Hare, 50, also made the list with an estimated wealth of £308m. He owns shopping centres including Newry's The Quays. The Jennings family, who sold their Co Antrim-based engineering firm Rotary for £100m, managed to boost their assets to £176m.
Indian steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, 57, topped the list for the fourth year running with a 44% rise in his fortune in one year. He is now worth £27.7bn.
