Newtownards Skip Firm Fined For Waste Offences

A County Down man has been fined over £500 for waste offences.

Adrian Griffiths, trading as Scrabo Skips, of Bangor Road, Newtownards, was fined £500 plus £32 at Newtownards’ Magistrates Court yesterday.

During an inspection last May, Environment and Heritage Services officers discovered an illegal waste transfer station at the Bangor Road site, where waste was being stored, sorted and disposed of.

Mr Griffiths pleaded guilty to one charge of treating, keeping, and disposing of waste.
