A Downpatrick man was fined a total of £3,000 for planning offences, at Downpatrick Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Alan Telford of St Dillon's Avenue, Downpatrick, faced two counts of non-compliances with Enforcement Notices, and was ordered to pay £1,500 for each offence.
The two Enforcement Notices related to the unauthorised use of land for the purpose of a car wash, car valet business, sale of plants and associated storage of vehicles; and the unauthorised infilling of land, formation of hard standing, siting of portacabin and container, construction of sheds and a building for a generator, concrete ramps and erection of a wooden fence at lands south of Asda Supermarket, Ballydugan Road, Downpatrick.
The Planning Service brought the action under Article 67(A) of The Planning (NI) Order 1991.
