County Meath residents are continuing to lobby An Bord Pleanala to reject proposals for a new incinerator in their town of Nobber.
The authority has already granted planning permission for an incinerator in the nearby town of Duleek.
The North East Anti-Incineration Group held a protest on Saturday, but plans for a balloon launch stalled due to bad weather conditions.
The group, who according to spokesman John Keogan are outraged, held a submissions advice clinic in Nobber Parish Hall on Saturday afternoon.
Mr Keogan said the incinerator in Duleek could easily accommodate the additional waste.
Locals have also gained backing from TD Shane McEntee, who previously stated: "We cannot have two incinerators in Meath."
Earlier this year, An Bord Pleanala ruled that the incinerator fell under the Special Infrastructural Developments Scheme (SIDS) project, placing it outside the remit of Meath County Council planners.
The combined heat and power (CHP) plant would include a meat and bone meal incinerator.
