An International soft drinks brand look set to add fizz to activity at a Wexford business park, if plans for a new multi-million euro plant are granted.
Coca-Cola is expected to submit a combined manufacturing and innovation proposal, worth €190m, to the Irish planning authority soon.
The facility, which will sit on 41-acre site, will include a manufacturing, laboratory and pilot plant facilities to enable process development and product commercialisation.
Some of the €190m investment will go towards research and development activities.
Reports have suggested the new project could create around 60 jobs in the first year, which would stretch to 100, five years into operation.
It is also expected that the building process will create some much needed work for local construction firms.
Coca-Cola Ireland already employs 25 people in Dublin, while Coca-Cola Bottlers Ireland has a workforce of 650.
In October last year, the company closed its concentrate plant in Drogheda, County Louth with the loss of 250 local jobs.
