A boil water notice has been lifted for residents in Pallasgreen, Limerick, following consultation between the local county council and the Health and Safety Executive.
The notice was put in place on 22 August following the detection of E-Coli.
Extensive testing by the local authority's Environmental Laboratory staff has shown that the water being supplied to the Pallasgreen Water Supply Scheme continues to meet the drinking water standards.
Paul Crowe, Director of Water Services at Limerick County Council, said: "The introduction of a boil notice was deemed a necessary precautionary measure to ensure that public health was not put at risk.
"Limerick County Council will continue to monitor the water supply to ensure compliance with water quality standards. The Council would like to thank the public for their support."
Earlier this week, the Water Services Authority lifted another boil notice affecting hundreds of customers of the Rockhill Public Water Supply.
There are now no drinking water alerts affecting water consumers in County Limerick.
