The Transportation Strategic Policy Committee at Kildare County Council has proposed to develop a countywide policy for the control and management of the parking of HGV type vehicles in residential areas within the county.
Given the strategic importance of transportation to economic activity and employment within the county, the committee has said it wishes to obtain the widest range of views possible.
The council has invited written submissions and observations from interested parties and individuals on the proposed policy formation.
These should be addressed to the Senior Executive Officer, Transportation and Public Safety, and received no later than Friday 26 September 2008.
Meanwhile, Mayo County Council has made a call for organisations planning anti-litter and graffiti projects to apply for government grants.
The council has invited submissions from community groups, residents associations, schools, tidy town committees or other interested parties, who may be eligible for grants.
The cash is targeted at public education and awareness initiatives combating litter and vandalism.
Completed submissions should be made to the Environment section of Mayo County Council not later than Friday 19 September 2008
Application forms are available online at www.mayococo.ie (Environment Forms Page).
