Loading steel at the Corus Lisburn site has just got safer, with the addition of two new eight-tonne sideloaders for the Regional business.
The site has four of the new Lancer sideloaders for the last year and they had already demonstrated improved safety and reliability, creating a safer working environment in the stockyards.
"We are really pleased with the performance of the new loaders," said Alan Garrett, Team Leader for the Regional business.
"With their hydraulic gearboxes, the sideloaders are more reliable. They have more safety features including automatic handbrakes and better all-round visibility, which increases safety on site."
"The eight tonne capacity is much sturdier than our previous five tonne loaders and this makes them much more stable when loading steel onto trailers," he added.
Customers are seeing the benefits from improvements to turn-around times when they call to collect steel orders.
