Kildare-based manufacturing company Future Plastics Limited has been awarded the prestigious ISO 9001 quality standard.

The firm only began trading six months ago, in March.

Managing Director Gary Foley said he believes there is a future for Irish manufacturing companies that watch their bottom line and supply a high quality product.

The company already employs 11 people and forecasts a turnover in excess of €1.5 million in its first year.

Operating in a number of niche markets, current business levels are said to be high and forecasts remain positive.

Future Plastics main customer base is in Ireland but it does have a small export base which it tends to exploit over the coming months.
