The council hopes the scheme will significantly improve bus journey times and provide enhanced facilities for cyclists and pedestrians, as well as the mobility impaired and disabled, providing additional safety measures for all road users.

The proposal includes the provision of a dedicated left turn lane from Nutgrove Avenue to Braemor Road, together with the extension of the existing bus lane on Nutgrove Avenue towards the Braemor Road / Upper Churchtown Road junction.
