The Ballysally Estate in Coleraine is to benefit from a major street lighting improvement scheme, it has been announced.
Unveiling the £380,000 funding package, Stormont Regneration Minister Margaret Ritchie said: "I am pleased to announce this funding through the Neighbourhood Renewal Programme for street lighting upgrades in Ballysally.
"These improvements will enhance community safety and help reduce opportunities for anti-social behaviour in the area."
The proposal will involve the replacement and upgrade of current street lighting in the Mossvale, Glenburn, Glenvara, Kenbane, Grovesend, Elms Park and Loughanhill Park areas.
The work is designed to complement and complete the upgrades already carried out in the estate in 1995 and 1996.
Around 2,592 square metres of Footways in Elms Park and Loughanhill will also be resurfaced.
Funding has been secured from Department for Social Development's Neighbourhood Renewal Investment Fund, and work will be undertaken on the Department’s behalf by DRD Roads Service Northern Division
