Roof Repairs Approved At Clare School

Clonmoney National School, in County Clare, is be allocated capital funding by the Education Department to allow for roof repairs, it has been revealed.

Local TD Tony Killeen said the funding will pay for roofing works to be undertaken at the school, which is located close to Newmarket on Fergus.

The Building Unit of the Department will be in contact with Clonmoney School shortly in relation to the amount of funding approved, Mr Killeen said.


Earlier this month, funding was allocated for similar small capital projects at Inagh, Carron, Carrigaholt, Furglan and Clooney National Schools.

Mr Killeen said: "The approval of funding for such small scale capital projects is very positive news for the schools concerned as some had believed that the current economic downturn would have led to a subsequent decrease in Government spending in this area.

"In this regard, I wish the Clonmoney school authority every success with its project."
