'Jack Of All Trades' Service Lauded

Construction News Image
An enterprising 'Jack of All Trades' has secured a massive contract to carry out 24-hour support to a top Northern Ireland property firm.

Belfast man Kieran Murphy, who works for the support services company Resource, has branded himself a 'one stop man' for all maintenance needs, a work ethic that caught the attention of Whelan Property Consultants.

The 23-year-old has mastered more than 15 different skills, including window cleaning, hedge trimming, grass cutting, locking up, painting, sweeping leaves and unblocking drains.

The roles performed by the multi-tasking pro were previously provided by six different departments within resource.

Whelan is the first to sign up to the company's new dedicated service which means they can support an entire property portfolio using Kieran's "one stop van".

Kieran said: "My new role for resource involves me travelling around the country in my van either making regular site visits or answering one off call-outs.

"I'm a plumber by trade but I've been trained up to do any job that's required. On a daily basis I could be dealing with anything from a flood to a pest control problem as well as doing my usual cleaning and maintenance roles."

Gerard McCann, Director of Asset and Facilities Management for Whelan Property Consultants, said: "Partnering with resource to use a multi-tasking handyman to service some of our property portfolio makes real sense for us and our tenants.

"Having just one person to handle all the jobs from cutting grass to emergency plumbing is not just cost effective, but it means our customers get to know an individual on whom they can always rely."
