Irish Technology Minister Jimmy Devins has officially opened new Dundalk research and development plant, as part of a €1.1m investment by Ergo.
The scheme was unveiled at the Incubation Centre at the Regional Development Centre at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT).
Enterprise Ireland partly funded the project, which will develop fully over the next two years.
Minister Devins said: "Ergo is an excellent example of how R&D can transform a business. Ergo has used Enterprise Ireland supports to evolve from a manufacturing company to producing knowledge-based software that can be exported to global markets, creating 22 new jobs in the process.
"Locating in the incubation centre at Dundalk IT means that Ergo can avail of the colleges’ research resources in an innovative business environment, between the major hubs of Dublin and Belfast," he added.
