'Affordable' Bray Housing Remains Unoccupied

The urgency of transforming vacant housing stock in the Bray area of Riversdale into affordable homes has yet again been raised by the town council.

The number of home earmarked for affordable housing was discussed by concerned councillor John Brady.

Mr Brady, addressing council colleagues, said five of the eight homes highlighted in the Riversdale development remain unoccupied due to ongoing delays.


According to Mr Brady, the council will not budge on the price tag put on the properties, despite market values dipping.

He said the current price is similar to those put on homes two years ago and has not factored in economic changes.

The councillor called on the local authority to lower the cost to encourage buyers.

Housing officer Triona Irving said that the Riversdale management company have confirmed receipt of a letter from Bray Town Council officials.
