Leading manufacturer of concrete products, Acheson and Glover, has donated £5,000 to the Samaritans.
The donation is to support the ongoing initiatives and charitable work of the Samaritans in Northern Ireland.
Funds will be used for upcoming projects in particular a new SMS text messaging emotional support service from the Samaritans that will be implemented later this year for all age groups.
Anyone seeking help from the Samaritans can already email and phone and visit the charity’s eight branches throughout Northern Ireland.
The new text messaging service will be a new way for people to seek help in a very private and safe manner.
"We are very grateful to Acheson and Glover for this substantial donation," said Alan Halliday, Regional Marketing Officer for the Samaritans in Northern Ireland.
"It is more valuable to us than ever considering the current economic climate. Northern Ireland has a wonderful tradition in volunteering and we are delighted that our charitable work is being supported," he added.
