82 New Kitchens For Ballymoney Residents

Construction News Image
Eighty two Housing Executive tenants in Ballymoney are to have new kitchens installed in their homes, it has been announced.

District Manager Mairead Myles Davey welcomed the start of contracted works, which represent around a £300,000 investment in the borough.

Ms Davey said: "I am delighted that this contract is getting underway, with the work being carried out by Dixons Contractors, our Egan contractor for this type of scheme.

"This means that these homes will have modern kitchen facilities, designed to better suit the needs of everyday living," she said.

"As an Egan contract, quality and consultation with customers at all stages are key to these schemes and so I am confident that residents will be pleased with the end result."

Ms Davey said schemes of this nature are an important part of the Housing Executive's objective to improve living conditions for its tenants, in both urban and rural locations.

"This contract demonstrates our commitment to this aim locally in the Ballymoney Borough," she added.

Homes in Balnamore are included in the contract.

Local Community Association member Helen Beckett said: "It is great to see this work getting underway."

She added: "The kitchen is often the hub of the home so these improvements will be widely welcomed by tenants. I hope that the contract will run smoothly, with minimum disruption, and completed as quickly as possible for the families involved."
