North Tipperary County Council has signed a contract worth €161,000 with Kilderry Instruments in respect of a Telemetry System for use at Ballaghveny Landfill.
Terry O'Niadh, County Manager, said the contract will enable the highest possible standards of environmental monitoring and protection to be utilised at the landfill.
"This SCADA Telemetry system is a further example of North Tipperary County Council's commitment to ensuring that the protection of our environment is not compromised," he said.
Kilderry Instruments is a well recognised company with extensive expertise and experience in the area of environmental monitoring.
Deputy Mayor Councillor Tom Harrington welcomed the awarding of the contract and said that the Environment remains firmly on the agenda in North Tipperary.
