The Border Regional Authority is to review the current Regional Planning Guidelines for the Border Region, and prepare new Regional Planning Guidelines for the period 2010 to 2022, it has been revealed.
The functional area of the Border Region comprises of Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Cavan, Monaghan and Louth County Council areas.
The objective of the Regional Planning Guidelines is to provide a long term strategic planning framework for development of the Border Region, and to guide and inform the Development Plans and Local Area Plans of the Councils in the Border Region.
As part of this review, a public consultation period is being launched to gauge views of the public and interested parties.
An Issues Paper and an Information Leaflet have been prepared by the Regional Authority, outlining matters and issues to be considered in the preparation of the new Regional Planning Guidelines, and to assist in the writing of submissions.
