A double job's boost is heading for the North West area with news this week of both a planned contract for a supermarket extension and a separate bid to build a new north coast hotel.
Sainsbury's first revealed plans to expand their Coleraine operation in a move that will see the creation of up to 40 full time and 40 part time jobs as the company renovate their store at the Riverside Retail Park.
The store will grow by almost double from 2,400 square metres to 4,000 if outline proposals to redevelop the store are accepted.
Meanwhile, plans for a new £4m hotel on Northern Ireland's north coast have been unveiled.
The proposed Port Gallen Lodge on the seafront road between Portrush and Portstewart would create 30 jobs.
Coleraine property developer the Kennedy Group has submitted a planning application to replace an existing derelict building on the Ballyreagh Road site with the 25-bedroom complex.
If approved, the new hotel could be open within a year.
The planned development will be the Kennedy Group's fifth hotel project in Northern Ireland in seven years.
