Part of Drogheda Borough Council could be taking up residence at the newly developed Boyne Shopping Centre, it has been reported.
The council said it is still working on securing new offices for maintenance and planning staff, which is said should be finalised later this month.
However, one temporary site said to be under consideration is the refurbished shopping site.
Town Clerk Des Foley said the housing office would remain within the borough headquarters, as will the finance department and town clerk's section.
Staff moving to a new facility will include those working within the planning, engineering, environment and water services. This is expected to effect around 50 people.
Mr Foley recently told council members the new offices needed to be central to the town and easily accessible for the public.
"As soon as plans are finalised we will be advising people of the new situation," he said.
