Mallow council in Cork has raised serious concerns about the condition of an historic building in the borough.
Bagenalstown House was a hot topic a recent town council meeting, with close scrutiny given to the state of the protected structure.
According to one councillor the building has been "terrorised" by vandals.
Denis Foley said: "It is a lovely house and the onus is on the owner to protect that."
Councillor John Clarke said the house had been completely "pulled asunder", and asked why the members should be worried about protecting the property when "the man who owns it has no regard for it".
