Capital Freeze Hits Fingal Project

Improvement works in Fingal have been hit by the recession.

Plans for the completion of upgrade work at Balbriggan Cricket have stalled.

Fingal council said new government restrictions on spending has reduced the capital available for the project.

Works on the boundary treatment will be progressed, however, the remaining upgrade scheme has been put on hold.

The council said it hopes that if the freeze on its capital expenditure is lifted, the completion of the works can go ahead.
