Waterford-based Cheevers Electrical has been named one of Ireland's leading domestic electrical contractors, at a recent Dublin awards ceremony.

The firm was chosen from almost 2,000 of RECI's (Register of Electrical Contractors) members to receive the regional award.

The awards promote and encourage standards of excellence in electrical contracting.

Judging criteria was rigorous and based on random inspections carried out by RECI inspectors.

Inspections were carried out on installations undertaken by contractors across the country throughout the past five years.

The judging panel consisted of high-profile industry and health and safety experts.

Cheevers Electrical has operated for almost 20 years, and has more than six years' experience in the home-automation and custom-installation market.

According to Colm Cheevers, the award was a real vote of confidence in Cheevers Electrical.
