The Northern Ireland Housing Executive has completed extensive modernisation to 31 homes at Lisanally Villas, Armagh and St Matthews, Keady.
District Manager Aengus Hannaway, welcoming the completion of the work, said: "This major improvement scheme is part of the Housing Executive’s strategic approach to modernise our older stock, ensuring that our tenants have good quality, modern and comfortable homes.
"£1.02m is a huge investment and underscores our commitment in providing decent homes for our tenants in both rural and urban areas right across the Province. Good housing contributes to the regeneration of all communities," he said.
The work carried out included new kitchens, new bathroom fittings and downstairs toilets to the houses.
Internally, the properties were rewired and the dwellings fittings with smoke alarms.
Work to the outside of the properties included servicing windows and doors, cleaning roofs and repairing paths.
Seven one-bedroom bungalows situated in St Matthews Estate, Keady were converted into two bedroom.
The work included extending the bungalow for a new kitchen and store.
Internally, the layout of the bungalow was improved to provide an additional bedroom.
Oil fired central heating was installed, new bathrooms fitted and complete re-wiring was also carried out.
Local resident Kevin Traynor said: "I am very impressed with the work done to my home. The extension which has given me an extra bedroom is great. The layout of the bungalow has changed and the extra space is very welcome."
