RTÉ presenter Neville Knott has slammed the Irish interior design industry, saying it is in need of radical change.
Speaking at the launch of Showhouse Annual, he said: "What people want are designs that will endure... Interior design stores need to freshen things up.
"Too many stores are selling the exact same designs... With uncertainty economically, we will need to re-evaluate what we can do with our home."
The Showhouse TV programme sees two interior designers pitted against each other, with Neville challenging the designers to create a dream home.
Showhouse Annual is the companion magazine of RTÈ programme.
It provides the tips on turning homes into a designer’s dream, helping navigate the reader where to shop, offering cost-effective advice on all aspects of interior design.
