Representatives in Co Wicklow have criticised central government's grant allocation for water and sewage works in the region.
Many have said the county has effectively been 'left out in the cold' compared to the amount of investment set aside for other geographical areas.
The Department of Environment's nationwide grant fund distributed €1.65m to Wicklow while border counties Wexford and Carlow received €2.2m and €2.6m respectively.
"While I welcome the grant I must express my disappointment at the fact that other local authorities received far greater contributions including Mayo €12.365m and Roscommon €8.581m," said councillor Vincent Blake.
