Sligo County Council is seeking proposals from developers interested in building social housing in the city.

Expressions of interest are sought from experienced housing developers or contractors for the supply of turnkey developments.

Small schemes, consisting of a mix of house types of two, three and to a lesser extent four bed, with own door access and private amenity space are sought by the council.

"Proposals must be consistent with the Planning Regulations, Building Regulations and all relevant Development guidelines as set out by the Department of the Environment Heritage and Local Government," said a spokeswoman.

Regard will be had to good estate management and social mix in any proposal considered, she added.
