Work on extending the LUAS line in the Dún Laoghaire Rathdown area got underway this week.
The county council made an order to temporarily close the junction of Ballyogan Avenue West and Ballyogan Road to facilitate the installation.
The work is part of the proposed extension of the green line from Sandyford to Cherrywood.
A spokesman for the council said the road closures would end this weekend.
Local Access to the Ballyogan Estate and Leopardstown Shopping Centre will be via Ballyogan Avenue East, the council said.
"A Traffic Management Plan is in operation and diversion routes have been signposted," said the spokesman.
"Dublin Bus Service to Ballyogan Estate will be maintained via Ballyogan Avenue East."
